ohumedhires copy An Artisteer Review? An OHU Recommendation.Right off the bat I have to tell you that I recently discovered a great piece of software to create your own blog sites (and websites if so desired) which is so powerful and so easy to use you won’t even need to look at the user manual . . .and if you do you’ll discover some tricks and shortcuts you didn’t even know you had! Seriously, creating blog sights from scratch with this program is a breeze . .and I think they look just great!

No Experience Necessary

I’m a new entrant into the blog-world and I wanted to enter with a design which I didn’t feel looked too commercial or cookie-cutter. I assumed that that meant I would have to pretty much either pay someone big bucks to do it for me, and then be dependent on them forever, or learn html or some more complex program in order to achieve what I wanted.

Having decided I was going to go with WordPress as my blog client I worked feverishly to find a free theme (there are 1000′s) to be the perfect face to have on the web, and also to do everthing I wanted to eventually do on my blog. I spent months trying out many of these and never was able to find “it.” But then, by sheer accident, I discovered Artisteer!!

I went to their site where you can download the full software package, Artisteer 2.1, for free and immediately began clicking and typing. Everything is WYSIWYG so I was actually able to see immediately the results of anything I did. Within a few enjoyable hours I had completed a preliminary site (theme) and was anxious to give it a trial run. I uploaded it to my server and was delighted to see how everything I had already created fit perfectly. Also, if you are not just substituting a theme for one you already have up but are creating your blog anew, no problem.

A Little Review of Artisteer

The free version I used, and which you will when you test it out, is the complete version. In fact, there are actually two complete versions. One is called the Home Version and sells for a whopping $49.00! That is unbelievably cheap in my book! The Home Version will do themes for WordPress, Joomla and Drupal, all in their native formats so all you have to do is plug in your baby and watch her go. The second version is called the Standard Version and it boasts some more professional capabilities;  allowing  a much greater diversity of output files for the more serious and professional web/ blog designer who will have need of html, CMS and other features. This version sells for $129 . . .also pretty darn cheap.

You might ask “Why pay for it if you can download it for free?” Good question. It doesn’t expire or disappear, so what’s the scoop? Well, what happens is that the files you complete with the free versions all look perfectly fine when you create them, but when you publish them you will see that the colors look a little muted. Closer examination reveals that the pages are all watermarked with “Free Trial” repeated in very small type so that it looks like there is a gauze over everything. Of course once you pay for the license and download the serial number, this “gauze” will vanish into thin air, the colors will become more vibrant and the text will pop out more brilliantly . . .all will be well.

If you want to build your own blogs without hassles, have a tremendous amount of freedom and virtually unlimited flexibility in a template based program (because you can upload your own graphics and photos to be used in many places), then Artisteer will be your best friend. I love it. Certainly, give it a try. It costs nothing to see how creative you can be and have a lot of fun putting together something you may really want to use.
